RI Mask Update
In a press conference today, May 14, 2021, Governor Dan McKee stated that Rhode Island will be aligning with the recommendations from the CDC for fully vaccinated persons and mask wearing. (CDC “When you’ve been fully vaccinated“).
Restrictions for businesses that were to be lifted effective May 28, 2021 will instead be lifted effective May 21, 2021. Covid.ri.gov. Businesses such as restaurants, gyms and retail stores will be allowed to resume at 100% capacity.
There will be no limit on social gatherings.
All fully vaccinated persons will not have to wear masks other than the exceptions outlined by the CDC (please refer to above link). Businesses in Rhode Island will be able to make their own determinations as to whether or not they would have their customers wear masks while visiting their establishments.
As far as the recommendations and guidelines put in place for personal service business during the height of the pandamic, each business should establish their own protocals as to how to run their business as they see fit.
