Recruitment for Rhode Island Massage Therapy Board

Good afternoon,

The Rhode Island Department of Health is establishing a Board Massage Therapists and is seeking applicants to serve a three year term as a Board member.  Pursuant to Rhode Island General Law 23-20.8, the Board will be responsible for:

(1)   Adopting rules and regulations to govern the licensure of Massage Therapists in Rhode Island;

(2)   Establishing standards of professional and ethical conduct;

(3)   Adopting rules that endorse license examinations from other states and territories; and

(4)   Ensuring that licensed Massage Therapists comply with the established standards

The Board is comprised of seven volunteer members – six Massage Therapists and one consumer.  To apply, please send me your resume and a letter of interest by October 30, 2015.
